Supporting those affected by someone else's drug or alcohol misuse
We are a Derby based registered charity which aims to provide support for families/carers/friends and other individuals who are affected by drug abuse or alcohol misuse of someone whom they care for.
Lauren's Link was founded in 2000 following the tragic demise of 16 year old Lauren Rodgers, who died of heroin abuse in 1998.
Substance abuse causes anguish to people who care:
- Stigma from outsiders and people who don't understand
- Feeling confused, ashamed, isolated
- Feeling helpless and guilty as physical health and relationships deteriorate
You are not alone
It is estimated that 1.5 million people are affected by someone else’s drug/alcohol misuse, with 1.3 million children affected by parental alcohol misuse. Lauren’s Link provides a confidential service supporting families/carers affected by someone else’s problematic Drug/Alcohol misuse.
